Acres of Diamonds is a fantastic and inspirational lecture by Russell Conwell that was given over 6,000 times all over the world.
The premise of his talk was that far too often we think that the key to real success lies somewhere off in the distance. As if everyone else but you has opportunity just staring him or her in the face.
And the truth is they do—but (wait for it…) SO DO YOU!
The Acres of Diamonds that Russell Conwell is referring to are the acres right under your own feet! There is no reason to search the world looking for opportunity – the key is to learn how to see what is literally right in front of you.
When we work with clients, there is always a sense that in order to build the business they desire that they will have to go through significant change, solve complex problems and have more than a little luck to build the future they want to see.
Rarely is that the case.
In most cases the opportunity is well within their grasp—often so easy for them to grab that they cannot believe they didn’t see it before. One thing that throws people off is that a diamond in the rough often looks very different and can be harder to spot to the untrained eye.
We all know that we cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results, but few realize that success is usually less than a stone’s throw away.
However, by gaining insights and clarity on where our opportunities lie, it becomes easy to build an action plan to take advantage of them quickly and easily!
